15. Apple Pay

Apple Pay or mobile payment is not a good idea, but it has been deployed widely. Too bad, we have to deal with this.

>The banks are open to an agreement, but are not happy with Apple's fee proposals and are worried about security vulnerabilities like the ones that U.S. banks experienced, the Journal said, citing the people.<

Having your mobile wallet open around with you all the times were not a good idea. Your mobile phone communicates with wireless networks most of the times and WiFi networks some times. Do you think that your mobile phone is unhacked-able? Yes, they could hack your phone like hacking your computer, which is only connected to WiFi most of the time unless you have a wireless stick.

I read that Canadian banks proposed an additional [personal] passcode to Apple Pay, I would agree, too. Unless Apple agrees to pay all damages to stolen wallets? Banks would only need to send Apple a long bill.

Btw, hackers would steal the encrypted wallet file on an Apple's iPhone and put those in another iPhone, then "wave" at a payment station.

Paypass is different; it's in a plastic card. It's harder to pick pocket us for our credit card.

Most of users thought that using latest technology was "cool" and "good". It's not always true. In this case, fraud could happen easier with mobile payment than with a plastic credit card or debit card. Are users willing to pay or to spend time arguing with the banks and credit card providers in case of fraud in their accounts?

Digital wallets were earlier used for bit coins. Nobody bothered to pay attention, because bit coins were useless and stupid. They have imported those in real currency payment, it became an issue. Digital wallets must be safe and secure for debit cards and credit cards.

Btw, I am not a fan of new technology. Perhaps I'd be involved if I worked for a company providing those.
