Day traders or institution investors would like to get stock price alert if it falls or rises at the preset triggers. Currently banks didn't provide this feature. Bank of Montreal sent emails to customer at trigger point. Email was long and could be buried in other emails.

The wireless network allows users with Short Message Services (SMS) or text messages over a voice channel. Currently they could also send messages over a data channel.

With a short message, traders could get important notes quickly.
