What
do you think about the current anti-virus or security software?
------------
Back to early 2000, they had entered my computer as a free market to take my
files, which weren't a secret or highly confidential. However I didn't like
those things, thus I wanted to write a firewall, but I didn't have access to a
Microsoft component to handle incoming and outgoing TCP/IP packet. I dropped my
idea and patent application.
-> Of course, my files including my resume are confidential.
There are many anti-virus and security software out there such as Norton
Security, McAfee, Kaspersky, MS Firewall, etc. However they didn't offer a
simple feature that I wanted.
MS Firewall allows us to block a port, but didn't allow us to block "all
ports" as a step. Going through blocking each port manually is
troublesome. Otherwise we could "block all", and open only ports
needed.
Norton Security allows blocking a protocol. However if you block all ports
except http, a web-based program failed mysteriously, i.e. it's using another
port or protocol. However Norton didn't inform or flag the protocol or port
attempted by the web-based program. Thus you would end up open all ports for
that web-based program instead of opening the missing port.
McAfee allows seeing programs connecting to Internet in a permanent data entry
in the interface. However it didn't say which port of protocol that program may
use. Perhaps many of them would use the same port. I saw many entries required
by McAfee connected to the Internet, e.g. even Microsoft Office connecting to
Internet, too - weird.
Anyways, it seems to me that hackers could enter my PC regardless of security
software used currently. Does that mean that they had the source codes of
software used by those companies?

Hackers could come in our computer by a port including ports opened for an
anti-virus software or Microsoft office. Having only necessary ports opened
means that narrowing issues for trouble shooting.
My PC: one stuck in standby mode, one sent to repair. How could I like hackers?
