Currently
LinkedIn provides number of views on a post. Facebook, Google+, and Blogspot
don't provide views on a post. Many people didn't "like" a post,
because they didn't want to leave their user name there.
If
you are an owner of a blog or a web site, you would be interested in number of
views for a post and where those viewers were from, e.g. a country or city.
If
a post promoted a product, you would be able to gear your sales of that product
and similar products to that region. This is kind of business intelligent and
CRM.
If
you're a media owner, you would write similar articles/subjects that had drawn
many viewers. This would attract viewers to your web page, where you could do
commercial or advertising of products for commission.

Notes:
* December
27, 2018: Blogspot does provide total
number of views for a blog and location of viewers. However this is not very
useful if there are many different posts in a blog.
Actually blogspot did provide
number of views per post or a page if you entered the "design ->
Stat" mode. However it didn't provide location of viewers in this mode.
They should support a UI to
present data in an easy way to view this useful information, e.g. based on
viewers in descending order
- Most viewed posts or pages
- Location of viewers included.
* February 4, 2018: If you're
curious about gearing sales to a region based on views, you should check IP
address of viewers. Each region has been allocated a unique IP range.
