5. Document types

There are 2 types of documents in development world, i.e. project document and product document.

Product documents describe the product, which should be kept updated or alive for the lifetime of its product. For example, test case document, function specification, technical specification, etc. Product documents must details the product specification that we sold to customer. It can't include "wish list", because we can't test or verify something undeveloped?

Project documents used to include details about a current project. It becomes obsolete whenever the project closed or completes its useful time. For example, test plan, incremental requirement specification, test execution, or test report. Useful [left over issues] information must be recorded by another method, e.g. use defect tracking tool to log outstanding bugs in a test report.
